Welcome to the Takahashi-ha no Ryukyu - Shuri-te Karate-do Association of New Zealand; which was first introduced into New Zealand in 1962 by the late Takahashi Kentsu - Soke, 10th Dan (1900-1994)

Garry O'Connor Hanshi was the first New Zealand deshi (student) to study under Takahashi Soke, and today he has been acknowledged as the last documented legitimate senior student of O'sensei Takahashi, after the death of Ichou Ito Shihan in 2006. Today our traditional martial arts heritage continues through O'Connor Hanshi our principal Instructor sharing the teachings of: Takahashi-ha no Ryukyu - Shuri te .

We are deeply passionate about preserving our Traditional Karate Do lineage, with integrity and respect. We sincerely belive in bringing out the "very best" in our students at all levels of instruction, therefore teaching a profound martial art and it's culture from Okinawa and Japan.
